OREANDA-NEWS Moscow is working to minimize the barriers that still exist in Russian-Iranian trade. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk. He was quoted by TASS.
He recalled that a full-scale agreement began to operate last year, and stated that trade between the two BRICS countries increased by 22 percent in 2025.
In December, Overchuk said that Moscow and Tehran were able to achieve a significant increase in the volume of bilateral trade, which, according to the official, "jumped" by 18 percent. At the same time, he noticed that Iranian goods began to appear in Russian stores.
In 2024, Russia's trade with Iran increased by 13 percent. In addition, the two countries have agreed to establish the first joint maritime consortium.
