OREANDA-NEWS It has become difficult to import some brands of laptops and other equipment to Russia. This was reported by Izvestia with reference to market participants.

Stricter certification rules have become a source of problems. The fact is that since August, each importer is required to independently obtain conformity documents for imported equipment. Previously, it was allowed to use one document for all suppliers. As a result, the supply of small batches of laptops proved to be economically unprofitable. Meanwhile, Dell, HP and Apple laptops were imported to Russia in such volumes.

According to Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, laptops have risen in price by three to four percent due to changes in certification rules. As for the range of devices from Dell, HP and Apple, it has shrunk by about 10 percent.

It is also noted that laptop sales fell by 35 percent year-on-year in August.

At the end of September, a forecast was published that smartphones and laptops could rise in price due to the technological fee, which is being introduced in Russia from December 1 this year.
