OREANDA-NEWS In May 2026, the United States increased purchases of sugary sodas from Russia. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the American statistical service.
Supplies of Russian beverages increased to a record 491.5 thousand dollars. A month earlier, the United States purchased 144.9 thousand.
According to statistics from the department, soda imports have risen to the highest level in the history of research since 2003.
In addition to sugary soda, the United States has increased imports of mineral water. During the month, shipments increased almost one and a half times, from 110.3 to 171.9 thousand dollars.
In the spring of 2026, Russia sharply increased purchases of fruit and vegetable juices from Georgia. The total cost of imports increased to 1.5 million dollars. At the same time, imports of sugary carbonated drinks, on the contrary, decreased by 2.1 million dollars. If in the spring of 2025 the total cost of Georgian soda supplies to Russia was $ 14.9 million, then in March-May 2026 it was $12.8 million.
