OREANDA-NEWS In December, the United States sharply increased the supply of goods to Russia compared to the previous month. In monetary terms, exports doubled, reaching $ 112.8 million against $ 62.6 million in November, RIA Novosti writes with reference to US statistics.
December's figures were the highest since at least September 2022, when exports reached $ 90.4 million, and in October fell to $80.1 million. At the same time, US imports of Russian goods in the last month of 2022 also increased to $638.4 million from $594.3 million in November. However, it remained below the level of October, when the United States imported $732 million worth of goods from Russia.
Despite the increase in trade turnover between the countries in December, its indicators lag significantly behind those observed in the last month of 2021. Then American exports to Russia amounted to 547.3 million dollars, imports — almost 1.9 billion.
In general, in 2022, exports from the United States to Russia amounted to $ 1.7 billion, and imports — $ 14.46 billion. A year earlier, these figures were at the level of 6.4 billion and 29.6 billion dollars, respectively.
