OREANDA-NEWS  The Ukrainian alcoholic brand Nemiroff has filed a lawsuit against its former partner — the holding company "United Penza Vodka Plants" (OPVZ) — demanding to stop using its brand in the production of products and recognize it as a violation of its rights. This is reported by Kommersant.

Nemiroff is the largest exporter of vodka from Ukraine, which is supplied to more than 80 countries. After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the brand revoked licenses for the production of its vodka and tinctures in Russia. In 2022, Nemiroff's sales decreased by 57.1%.

Despite the revocation of licenses for the sale of Nemiroff in Russia, OPVZ may have continued to produce brand products. Currently, it ranks 11th in sales among vodka producers in Russia.

Experts believe that after the cancellation of the license, Nemiroff and OPVZ had some agreements, and the lawsuit became nothing more than risk insurance. This may be evidenced by the fact that the company did not demand to recognize all products manufactured after February 2022 as counterfeit and to pay material compensation for violation of its rights.

According to another version, Nemiroff seeks exclusively to stop selling its products in Russia. According to experts, any excessive attention to Ukrainian companies in Russia can turn against them.

In early July, the investigative department of the TFR in Moscow announced the search for the founder of the vodka brand "Khortytsya" Ukrainian entrepreneur Yevgeny Chernyak. A criminal case was opened against him on the financing of terrorism. According to investigators, he and his accomplices transferred more than 500 million rubles to the account of the Ukrainian army. for terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia. Chernyak is being searched for, two of his accomplices have been detained. Details are in the material of "Gazeta.Ru».
