OREANDA-NEWS  Uncle Vanya, a producer of pickled and canned vegetables/Uncle Vanya, known worldwide for its products, received the quality mark "Made in Russia" from the Russian Export Center (VEB Group.Russian Federation), reports the REC.

"As patriots of our country, we are proud to take part in such a large-scale national project as export development. Our goal is to play an important role in the development of the country's agro–industrial complex, and the certificate "Made in Russia" helps us in this./Made in Russia," commented the Director of Development at Plodoimport (Uncle Vanya brand) Vitaly Duliyenko.

He noted that the Made in Russia quality mark plays a significant role in the development of exports, as it confirms that products have passed all necessary quality checks and are delivered to importing countries in perfect condition.
The representative of the production recalled that the company opened in the 1990s, like many others, began with imports. Initially, pickled cucumbers were imported from India, but then they expanded the range and began to produce products from domestic raw materials. The creators of Uncle Vanya started buying fresh vegetables from farmers, and in 2015 launched their own ambitious agricultural project in the South of Russia and now grow vegetables themselves.

"As for choosing a name for our brand, Ivan is one of the most popular names in Russia and in Slavic countries. Uncle Vanya is an honest image of a folk hero, who can be both a merchant and a sturdy peasant from the village, or your neighbor in the country, who grows cucumbers and harvests for the winter to feed his family and treat friends. This image, embodying the spirit of national labor, has become a symbol of our country in the world, like the Soviet Olympic bear," explained Duliyenko.

Today, the Uncle Vanya Group of Companies is one of the leading producers of vegetable preservation among those who have a full production cycle – from cultivation to processing. The brand produces and sells more than 100 million cans a year in Russia and abroad. In 2015, a large-scale agricultural project was launched in the Volgograd region, where the company grows fresh vegetables, and the company also has two long-standing processing plants. Last year, the construction of the third high-tech plant in the Volgograd region was completed right next to the fields where vegetables are grown, and the manufacturer also has a large class A logistics complex in the Moscow region.
