OREANDA-NEWS  The plans of the Japanese retailer Uniqlo to work in Russia have been revealed. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to a source in the retail real estate market.

It is claimed that the manufacturer and seller of clothing does not plan to reopen their stores in the country and may completely leave the domestic market. According to the source, this information is known to local employees of the brand.

To date, the brand has terminated lease agreements in part of Russian shopping centers. At the same time, it may take several months for the final closure of the business, the material says.

On January 23, it was reported that Uniqlo will release some of its sites in Russian shopping centers by February 1. It was noted that the company is optimizing the number of its stores in the country, but will not leave the market completely, but will leave five outlets.

At the same time, First Retailing, which owns the Uniqlo clothing brand, refused to comment on the reports that appeared in the Russian media about the fate of stores in Russia.
