OREANDA-NEWS. According to the government of the Khabarovsk Territory, the first serial aircraft fighter of the newest, fifth generation Su-57 was brought to one of the military aviation units of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.

The release says that "the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant (KnAAZ) will give over five multi-functional fighters of the fifth generation Su-57 to the Russian Armed Forces this year. The first aircraft has already entered one of the aviation units of the Southern Military District."

It was not reported where the aircraft was placed, but it was known that before entering the combat unit, the Su-57 would be tested at the State Flight Test Center in Akhtubinsk, in the Astrakhan region.

According to the regional Ministry of Industry, by the end of 2024 the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation will get 22 fighters of this type, and by 2028 – 76 ones.

The contract for the production of the Su-57 was signed by the personal request of President Vladimir Putin within the Army-2018 forum. According to the director of KnAAZ Alexander Pekarsh, the plant is regularly equipping the assemblage and assemblage shops with additional elements and equipment for building, including unique elements - swivel slipways - designed specially for the construction of such fifth-generation fighters.
