OREANDA-NEWS. There is no date for the resumption of flights between Russia and Turkey, but Ankara believes that they will be able to persuade Moscow to resume flights. This was announced to RIA Novosti by a representative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the republic on Wednesday.

Russia, due to the difficult epidemiological situation in Turkey, has limited air traffic with this country from April 15 to June 1.

As previously reported in the secretariat of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, she met with the chief foreign policy adviser to the President of Turkey Ibrahim Kalyn, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. It was noted that a delegation from the Russian Federation would be sent to Turkey to assess the situation and the prospects for the resumption of flights.

Bloomberg previously reported, citing a high-ranking Turkish official, that Turkey failed to convince the Russian Federation to resume flights on June 2, this will not happen until June 15.

“The fact that Turkey was unable to convince Russia to resume flights is not news that we have confirmed. Negotiations between the two countries continue. A delegation from Russia will arrive in Turkey, after which the Russians will make a decision. It cannot convince, "- said the interlocutor of the agency.

He added that at the moment, both sides have not made statements about a possible date for the resumption of flights.
