OREANDA-NEWS Hamas has fulfilled the objectives of its operation in Israel and is ready for dialogue, Musa Abu-Marzouk, a member of the movement's politburo, said in an interview with Al-Jazeera.

"We have fulfilled our goals... We are open to any discussions and political dialogue," he said, adding that the movement "is not closed from negotiations."

At the same time, Abu-Marzuk called Russia's position at a meeting of the UN Security Council on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict worthy. "Russia did not allow the United States and Israel to promote their resolution in the Security Council," the Politburo member said.

The Hamas representative also said that the movement maintains contacts with Moscow on the issue of Israeli prisoners who have a second Russian citizenship. On Saturday morning, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. Hamas fighters have infiltrated the border areas in the south of the Jewish state. The military wing of the Palestinian movement announced the operation "Flood of Al-Aqsa".
