OREANDA-NEWS  The White House has given the go-ahead for the permanent presence of American troops in Poland. This was announced by Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Department of the Office of the President of Poland, after a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as quoted by RMF24.

"The previous rotational formula, which consists in the periodic presence of troops, should give way to the permanent deployment of American contingents," the article says.

As Przydacz emphasized, this decision is the result not only of the American military strategy in Europe, but also of exceptionally good personal relations between the presidents of Poland and the United States, Karol Nawrocki and Donald Trump.

A change in the nature of the US military presence would be a "powerful signal" to both Poland's eastern and western neighbors, the article notes.

On May 21, Trump announced that the United States would deploy an additional 5,000 troops to Poland. He attributed this decision to his good relations with Navrotsky.
