OREANDA-NEWS A powerful earthquake has occurred in the Chinese province of Sichuan, there are victims. This is reported by experts from the European-Mediterranean Seismic Center (EMSC).
The tremors were recorded on the night of Monday, June 29, at 00:12 local time (19:12 on June 28 Moscow time). Their magnitude reached 5.2, which seismologists consider an earthquake capable of causing moderate damage.
The epicenter of the phenomenon was located 26 kilometers southeast of Yibin City District and 17 kilometers northeast of Xunchang village. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to the publication Cnfund, at least 13 people were injured. They suffered minor injuries and received medical attention. It is specified that 196 people had to be urgently evacuated.
"Currently, there are no serious casualties, public order is stable, and work to eliminate the consequences of the disaster is being conducted in an orderly manner," the publication says.
