OREANDA-NEWS On the evening of July 2, a strong magnetic storm will hit the Earth. The Russians were warned about this in the Telegram channel of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to scientists, the storm will reach the G3 level and will be the most powerful since March 2026. "Storms and radiation storms of the highest level are not expected in this case, and even the level preceding the highest (G4) is unlikely to be reached, but events of category G3 (severe) are apparently inevitable," they noted. The estimated start time of the event is from 21:00 on Thursday to midnight Moscow time.

Last night, a flare of the highest class X was recorded in the Sun. The IKI RAS clarified that it was the first of its kind after increased activity.
