OREANDA-NEWS  The B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber crashed shortly after takeoff from Edwards Air Force Base in California, the base said.

The B-52 Stratofortress of the US Air Force crashed shortly after takeoff at Edwards Airfield at 11:20 (21:20 Moscow time — Editor's note), emergency crews immediately arrived at the scene," the publication says on the social network X.

The B-52H Stratofortress is an American multifunctional strategic bomber with a flight ceiling of 15,000 meters. The aircraft is capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
