OREANDA-NEWS A South Korean-flagged chemical tanker capsized on Wednesday morning in the waters off the Japanese prefecture of Yamaguchi. NHK reports that a distress signal was received from the ship, the Keoyoungsun, which was located in waters near the city of Shimonoseki.

Four of the 11 crew members have been rescued, while the search for the remaining seven continues. Two South Korean citizens and eight Indonesians were on board, along with one Chinese citizen.

According to reports from the Coast Guard, the ship was anchored due to poor weather conditions. In the city of Shimonoseki, a high wind with a speed of around 82 kilometers per hour was recorded early on Wednesday morning.
