OREANDA-NEWS  A seismic event of magnitude 4.8 occurred in the Avacha Bay, located in the Pacific Ocean. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the ministry, tremors of up to three magnitude were felt in the settlements of Kamchatka. The epicenter was located at a depth of 68 kilometers and a distance of 69 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Earlier, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake with a potential tsunami threat occurred off the coasts of Chile and Argentina.
Prior to this, news emerged about an earthquake in Istanbul, resulting in the damage of 4,295 buildings.
