OREANDA-NEWS A small island of Ranki in Southeastern Finland was put up for sale for 7.9 million euros, the public broadcasting corporation Yle (blocked in the Russian Federation) reported. The island previously belonged to the military, is located near the border of Russia and has military fortifications.

The current owner of the island, Yi Yu, bought it eight years ago for 700 thousand euros and is confident of a successful sale. According to the owner, there are 100 land plots on the island that are already zoned. In addition, all buildings have geothermal heating.

Finland is one of the leaders in the world in terms of the number of islands, there are more than 180 thousand in the country. Many of them are privately owned.
