OREANDA-NEWS Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, at a meeting with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Mohsen Rezai in Tehran, denied suggestions about the use of Azerbaijani territory against Iran, the Iranian IRIB news agency reports.

Mustafayev called Iran a friendly and brotherly country for Azerbaijan.

He also called on the Islamic Republic to contribute to the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Rezai, for his part, commenting on the situation in the Middle East, said that the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran was contrary to international law. At the same time, he stressed that "Iran has put up a worthy resistance in this war."

Rezai added that "Trump is stuck in a quagmire where he can neither negotiate nor fight."

According to him, Iran is ready to contribute to the peace process in the South Caucasus.

"During the meeting, the parties paid special attention to economic projects agreed upon by the two countries, including the creation of the Araz Corridor, cooperation in the field of water resources and energy, border security and combating the smuggling of goods and drugs," the message says.
