OREANDA-NEWS The European Union is joining the operation to exert economic pressure on Iran, said US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
"The European Union has officially joined Operation Economic Rogue, and we highly appreciate its resolute and timely position," Bessent wrote on the social network X.
He noted that the United States, together with its allies, intends to prevent the Iranian regime from "using the global financial system to finance its nuclear ambitions, weapons programs and terrorist proxy forces."
"The world is sending a clear message to the Iranian regime: we will not stop until we cut all remaining financial arteries," the US Treasury Secretary added.
