British artist David Hockney has died at the age of 88.

OREANDA-NEWS British artist and photographer, one of the most famous representatives of pop art, David Hockney died at the age of 88, Sky News reported on Friday.
Hockney's spokesman says the artist "passed away peacefully" at his home in London. In less than a month, on July 9th, he would have turned 89.
Hockney became one of the most influential figures in art and gained popularity back in the 1960s. He has been financially successful throughout his career. On November 15, 2018, his work "Portrait of an Artist (Pool with two figures)" became the most expensive work of a living artist - it was purchased at auction for $90 million.
