Businessman Ilya Traber has been detained in a murder case

OREANDA-NEWS Ilya Traber, 75, a St. Petersburg businessman, was detained in a murder case committed several years ago, and he will be taken to Moscow for investigative actions, law enforcement agencies told Interfax.
"Traber was detained on suspicion of involvement in one of the murders of previous years. Searches have been carried out at his residential address," the agency's source said.
The issue of transferring the businessman to Moscow "for conducting investigative actions and choosing a preventive measure against him" is being resolved.
The agency's interlocutor did not specify the details of the criminal case.
Traber, a native of Omsk, is an influential St. Petersburg businessman whose business is connected with the city's ports. In particular, as it was reported, he owns a large share of the authorized capital of JSC Baltic Marine Mechanical Plant (BSMZ, St. Petersburg).
