OREANDA-NEWS  Canada is in a state of trade war with the United States. This statement was made by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, addressing the nation, writes the Financial Times (FT).

"When you are attacked, you go to war, and we were attacked," Carney said.

He added that Canada could not accept the US proposals and would not give Washington what it was asking for. "They asked for too much and offered too little," the prime minister added.

Earlier it was reported that the United States could not agree on a trade agreement with Canada and therefore should impose duties against it. It was noted that duties of 50 percent will be imposed on a number of Canadian goods as early as August 22. According to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, the negotiation process with the United States was unfair.
