OREANDA-NEWS  Restoring safe and free passage through the Strait of Hormuz is in the interests of all parties. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, according to TASS.

"The Strait of Hormuz is used for international shipping. The speedy restoration of its safe and free passage meets the interests of all parties," he said.

According to the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China is ready to maintain contacts with interested states and the international community on this issue. The diplomat also noted that Beijing will continue to make every effort to protect the safety of vessels with Chinese capital and vessels flying the flag of the People's Republic of China.

Earlier, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said that Washington expects the Strait of Hormuz to be open to free navigation in the long term. He clarified that over the past 24 hours, the intensity of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has already increased.
