OREANDA-NEWS NATO, as a product of the Cold War era, should rethink its role and influence on stability in the modern world. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian in response to a question about the accusations of Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte, RIA Novosti reported.
"NATO should correct its misconceptions about China, stop provoking confrontation and shifting the blame," he said.
According to the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the North Atlantic Alliance also needs to deeply rethink its role and influence in the modern world.
It is clarified that Rutte, in an interview with The Guardian, said that NATO is constantly trying to closely monitor the military assistance that China provides to Russia, including the training of soldiers.
China has previously denied such accusations. Lin Jian called the statement by the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kai Kallas, that China was allegedly training the Russian military to participate in the conflict in Ukraine, slander.
