OREANDA-NEWS  China is creating a base ship for large underwater drones at a shipyard in Shanghai, writes the TWZ portal, which has studied satellite images provided by the Vantor operator.

The carrier ship is 204 meters long and 30 meters wide. The publication notes that the new ship is comparable in size to the Chinese amphibious assault ship type 071, but significantly higher than the latter.

TWZ writes that the new ship has been under construction since April, and its design contains semi-submersible elements that are likely designed to launch large unmanned underwater vehicles.
