OREANDA-NEWS The draft of new sanctions against Russia, drafted by the late Senator Lindsey Graham (included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring), provides for the introduction of restrictions against the largest buyers of Russian oil and gas, including China and India. Details of the new sanctions were revealed by The Wall Street Journal.

According to sources, US President Donald Trump may impose duties against individual states in the amount of up to 100 percent if these countries promote the sale of energy resources from the Russian Federation. The bill also includes a provision on sanctions against Russia's defense, energy and financial facilities, as well as the shadow fleet.

"We have been working on it over time during negotiations with the US Trade Representative, as well as with colleagues from the White House. It was a very difficult, painstaking and lengthy process. We don't want an overly broad, blunt approach," said Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal, who worked on the bill with Graham.

Earlier, Trump said that he had not yet made a decision on whether to support a bill prepared in the US Congress to tighten anti-Russian sanctions. "We're talking about this. We will make a decision on this very soon," he said.
