OREANDA-NEWS The European Union will have its worst winter since 2022 due to the rejection of Russian energy by European bureaucrats, said Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the Russian President for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.

"Winter is coming. "The worst winter since 2022," which will once again expose the energy suicide of EU bureaucrats by rejecting Russian energy," Dmitriev wrote on the social network X.

Earlier, European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jorgensen, in an interview with the Financial Times newspaper, said that the European Union was facing the harshest winter since 2022 due to abnormally high diesel fuel prices. The official also urged US President Donald Trump not to impose a ban on diesel fuel exports to Europe, stating his intention to raise the issue ahead of a meeting of EU energy ministers in Dublin next week.
In the EU, diesel fuel prices have been breaking all records in recent weeks. Its value jumped by 40%.
