Estonia assessed the likelihood of a Russian attack on NATO

OREANDA-NEWS Rainer Sachs, the former head of Estonia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), considered the likelihood of a Russian attack on NATO to be minimal. His assessment is provided by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the ERR broadcasting company.
At the same time, Sachs admitted that Russia could do something. The Estonian specialist declined to provide specific details of a possible operation against the North Atlantic Alliance.
He stressed that the time range of Russia's proposed operation — from the autumn of this year to 2029 - looks completely absurd.
Prior to that, former Finnish President Sauli Niinisto also ruled out the possibility of a Russian attack on NATO countries.
In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the statements about the Russian threat, suggested thinking about why Moscow would attack NATO.
