OREANDA-NEWS The first million tons of grain were harvested in the Stavropol Territory, the interim results of the harvest in 2026 became known at a meeting with the heads of regional departments and heads of territories, which was held by the head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, the press service of the regional government reports.

The head of the region accepted the report of the Minister of Agriculture of the region Konstantin Ishkov on the situation in the industry. In particular, it was noted that the harvest has already brought Stavropol the first million tons of grain, while about 10% of the area has been harvested. In total, farmers will have to harvest winter wheat, barley and peas on an area of 2.2 million hectares. However, the press service clarified that so far the pace of work has been delayed by rains.

Today, the average yield is 39.8 hundredweight per hectare.

The issue of providing Stavropol farmers with fuel and lubricants was discussed separately. The press service of the regional government notes that the reserves accumulated in the region fully cover the needs of farms for harvesting this summer. There are currently more than 57,000 tons of diesel fuel and over 5,000 tons of gasoline in storage. A specialized organization, a regional operator, will help provide farms with fuel.

"It is necessary to constantly monitor the situation with fuel in the agriculture of the region. If you see that we are sagging somewhere, we will make decisions," Vladimirov said, as quoted by the press service of the regional government.

It was also noted that currently the farms of the region are actively accumulating reserves of mineral fertilizers for the upcoming autumn season.

On behalf of the governor, the pace of payment of state support to Stavropol farmers has been increased, including through the implementation of the regional state program "Development of Agriculture". Of the 4.9 billion rubles provided for the current year, about 2 billion have been brought to the recipients.
