OREANDA-NEWS The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia continues to monitor the situation with gasoline and diesel fuel pricing, has already initiated 58 cases in the fuel market, and issued 91 warnings, the service said.

"The FAS of Russia continues to monitor the situation with gasoline and diesel fuel pricing. The Service has initiated 58 cases against a number of oil companies and independent participants in the petroleum products market for violations of the Law on Protection of Competition. 91 warnings were issued to business entities," the report says.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has instructed to strengthen control over fuel pricing in Russia, the Russian government announced yesterday.

Fuel supply disruptions have occurred in Russia this summer. To improve the situation, the government has taken a number of measures, including banning fuel exports, providing tax incentives for imports and production growth in the country. In early August, the Russian authorities agreed that oil companies, through regional operators, would supply fuel to independent gas stations, among others.
