OREANDA-NEWS  France has deployed military personnel, planes and drones on the border with Spain amid the migration crisis in the enclave city of Ceuta, President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron said on Friday.

"(On the border with Spain - ed.) four units of the rapid reaction forces, planes and drones have been deployed," Macron wrote on the social network.

The French leader added that he had contacted Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to express solidarity with Madrid and offer any necessary assistance.

Earlier, the mayor and president of Ceuta, Juan Jesus Vivas, said that about 60,000 people entered Ceuta from Morocco in a day. The Pais newspaper later reported that the number of migrants who died trying to enter Ceuta from Morocco had reached 57.
