OREANDA-NEWS  France will recognize the Palestinian state on Monday, President Emmanuel Macron said.

"In accordance with my country's historic commitment in the Middle East, for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, France today recognized the State of Palestine," he said at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

The opening of an embassy there will be possible after the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and the release of all hostages, the president noted. France is ready to participate in the international stabilization mission in Gaza and, together with the European Union, support the training and equipping of the Palestinian security forces, Macron added. He also called on Arab and Muslim countries to recognize Israel and establish normal relations with it.
