Pavel Durov reacted to the criminal case against him in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, reacted to the criminal case brought against him in Russia. His comment was posted on Telegram.
"Russia has opened a criminal case against me for aiding terrorism," Durov wrote. He stated about the pressure on the messenger.
Earlier, State Duma deputy Andrei Svintsov admitted that after the news of the FSB investigation into Durov, Telegram could be recognized as an accomplice of terrorists. According to him, the management of the service can avoid this if it creates a legal entity in the Russian Federation, as well as fulfills a number of other requirements.
On February 24, it became known that the FSB began investigating Durov's actions in a criminal case on facilitating terrorist activities. It was clarified that since 2022, the number of crimes committed using Telegram has exceeded 153 thousand, about 33 thousand of them are related to sabotage, terrorist and extremist activities.
