OREANDA-NEWS  The French Foreign Ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador to Paris over the Russian Foreign Ministry's call to evacuate foreign embassies in Kiev. The corresponding statement was published on the website of the diplomatic agency.

"In connection with the massive strikes carried out over the weekend, as well as unacceptable threats against the Ukrainian civilian population and foreign diplomats, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, at the request of the Minister, summons the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to France," the text says.

The statement stresses that Paris remains committed to protecting European security and supporting Ukraine.

On May 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced attacks on decision-making centers in Ukraine. The Ministry called on foreign citizens, including staff of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations, to leave Kiev as soon as possible. Residents of the Ukrainian capital were advised by the Foreign Ministry not to approach military and administrative infrastructure facilities.
