Global Times: Kiev wants to directly clash NATO with Russia in Ukraine

OREANDA-NEWS Ukraine will seek to provoke a direct conflict between NATO and Russia, the Chinese newspaper Global Times writes.
"Kiev will constantly make efforts to push NATO allies to direct combat operations with Russian troops in Ukraine, as this is probably the only way for it to reverse the current situation," said military expert Song Zhongping. The expert noted that the United States is not stupid, therefore it will not allow Ukraine to use itself in this way, while it will continue to try to weaken Russia by its own efforts.
The article notes that Moscow, in turn, will not wait and see how Ukrainian troops are armed with Western weapons.
"If NATO intervenes more directly, the situation will immediately turn into a confrontation between the alliance and Russia, and the outbreak of World War III in Europe will become an event with a high probability," the expert said.
At the same time, in his opinion, the words of the chairman of the military committee of the alliance, Admiral Rob Bauer, about readiness for confrontation with Russia suggests that in fact this is a clear signal from the West that NATO will not interfere directly while Moscow continues the "military operation" on the territory of Ukraine.
Russia has repeatedly noted that the North Atlantic Alliance is aimed at confrontation. As the press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov emphasized, further expansion of the bloc will not bring greater security to Europe. The Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow remains open to dialogue with NATO, but on an equal basis, while the West should abandon the course of militarization of the continent.
