OREANDA-NEWS  The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is seeking to reduce the number of attacks on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), rather than "pointing the finger at the guilty party." This was stated by Director Rafael Grossi, TASS reports.

"Of course, we observe when something happens, where it happens, and we see our goal in identifying the situation that is happening at this particular moment, curbing the number of these attacks, and preventing such attacks in the future. This is a process that we can conduct as a technical professional agency, highlighting the unacceptable situations that occur," said the head of the international organization.

Grossi stressed that any attacks on nuclear facilities are unacceptable and dangerous. He stressed that we are also talking about the threat to the NPP.

Earlier, negotiations between representatives of Russia and the IAEA ended in Kaliningrad. During the meeting, the topic of the shelling of the nuclear power plant by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was raised. In addition, Alexey Likhachev, Director of the Rosatom State Corporation, discussed with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, issues of ensuring the safety of the nuclear power facility.
