OREANDA-NEWS. On Monday, 52 years-old Andrey Varichev, the head of the holding Metalloinvest owned by billionaire Alisher Usmanov and partners, died.

This was reported by RBC news agency, citing a source in the metallurgical company and a friend of the head of Metalloinvest. Later, the press service of the company confirmed that Varichev “suddenly died on April 27 after a serious illness.”

A representative of Metalloinvest told RBC that Varichev had bilateral pneumonia. He was not infected with coronavirus, journalists’ interlocutor stressed. According to one of the sources of RBC, the top manager passed a test for infection with COVID-19 and it had shown a negative result.
