OREANDA-NEWS The head of diplomacy of the European Union (EU), Kaya Kallas, is obsessed with the threat posed by Russia. This is the conclusion reached by Irish journalist Brian McDonald, writing about it on the social network X.
"Remove the word "Russia" from the Callas vocabulary for a month, and then what will be left?" he asked rhetorically.
In the last couple of days alone, Callas has made several statements about Russia. In particular, on May 1, it was reported that she ruled out the return of the EU to normal relations with Moscow. A day earlier, on April 30, she expressed the opinion that Europe should not humiliate itself by "begging Russia for negotiations."
Commenting on the latter, former presidential press secretary Yulia Mendel said that "only a deeply insecure person who has nothing to do with leadership can say such a thing...".
Also on April 30, Finnish politician Armando Mema complained that people like Kai Kallas are responsible for European diplomacy, as it humiliates the European Union.
Earlier, Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, warned about the consequences of Kallas' words about Russia. "Future generations will curse her name for dragging Europe into an unnecessary and catastrophic war against the world's largest nuclear power," he said.
