OREANDA-NEWS  The cancellation of a concert by Russian conductor Valery Gergiev in Italy by the decision of the concert venue demonstrates the hypocrisy of the so-called "Western democracies," Vito Comencini, a former member of the Italian parliament, lawyer and leader of the Veneto People's Association, told RIA Novosti.

"What they call 'democracy and freedom' is actually a real dictatorship. The cancellation of the concert of the great conductor Valery Gergiev demonstrates the hypocrisy of the so-called "Western democracies," especially European ones. Behind their beautiful facade, they actually hide the true face of globalist and militant dictatorships. They don't hesitate to include culture – in this case music – in the conflict with Russia, but as has happened before, the same thing can happen with sports and art," Comencini said.

According to the politician, the same people who ignored and continue to ignore tragedies like Donbass and Palestine are behind the decision to boycott the Gergiev concert.
