OREANDA-NEWS  More than 240 people have become victims of a plane crash in western India. This is reported by Reuters with reference to a senior police officer in Ahmedabad, Vidhi Chaudhary.

Initially, the agency reported that 294 people were killed when the plane crashed near the Ahmedabad airport. However, as Chaudhary explained, this number included bodies that were mistakenly counted twice.

There were 242 people on board the crashed Boeing 787 Dreamliner, 10 of whom were crew members. The airliner crashed into a residential area, which also killed several people on the ground.
