OREANDA-NEWS  Indonesia is interested in cooperation with Russia in the field of satellite technologies to expand public access to digital infrastructure, Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Anggi Raki Prabowo said after a meeting with the Russian delegation.

The meeting took place on September 23 in Jakarta. According to the official, the Russian side presented the capabilities of satellite data, control systems and receiving equipment for use in Indonesia.

"We want to create a digital infrastructure accessible to everyone on equal terms. Indonesia is a very big country," the deputy minister said.

Prabowo suggested that the Russian side consider cooperation with Indonesian satellite companies, including state-owned ones.

During the presentation, the Russian delegation spoke about the network of 98 satellites and said that the relevant company launches about 16 devices annually.

The Russian side also proposed educational programs and the creation of laboratories in Indonesia where students could study satellite technologies and gain practical experience in controlling spacecraft.
