OREANDA-NEWS The explosion at the Shahid Rajai commercial port in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas was caused by negligence and violation of safety regulations. This was stated by Iranian Interior Minister Iskander Moameni, Tasnim news agency reports.

"It became clear to the Ministry of Internal Affairs that the causes of the incident were negligence and omissions, as well as the fact that security issues and civil defense regulations were not taken seriously at the port," the report says.

It is reported that several people have already been summoned for questioning in connection with the investigation.

On April 26, a powerful explosion occurred in the port of Bandar Abbas, located in southern Iran. According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred at a warehouse of dangerous goods and chemicals. Earlier it was reported that the number of victims of the explosion increased to 36 people.
