OREANDA-NEWS  Iran, together with Russia, Turkmenistan and Qatar, intends to create a gas hub in the Persian Gulf, Iranian Oil Industry Minister Javad Oudji said on Wednesday.

"In cooperation with Russia, Turkmenistan and Qatar, we are trying to create a gas hub in the Eseluye region. Preparatory measures are at the planning stage," Mehr quotes Oudzhi as saying.

He added that Tehran will continue to develop trade with neighboring countries.

According to Ouji, Iran has achieved significant success in the oil and gas and chemical industries. He also recalled Tehran's participation in the construction of oil refineries in Venezuela.

The Minister noted that the world needs such enterprises, against which sanctions do not apply, and that the construction of such plants will continue in different countries.

In April, Iranian media reported that during Ouji's visit to Caracas, he and Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez signed a series of documents on increasing cooperation between the countries in the oil and gas sector, including joint development of oil and gas fields.
