OREANDA-NEWS Europe has been overtaken by a new "epidemic" in the form of depression of the population, which arose against the background of the situation in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic. This was written by the Interia publication with reference to the Polish Institute of Economics (PIE).

The publication notes that depression and anxiety are becoming an epidemic in modern Europe. Now economists are trying to translate this seemingly individual problem into real losses for the economies of the European Union (EU) countries. According to PIE, 62 percent of respondents in the European Union negatively assessed their mental health due to the impact of the conflict in Ukraine and the pandemic. In particular, depression and mental disorders can be measured from an economic point of view.
