OREANDA-NEWS Russia may preemptively stop supplying uranium to the United States if the US Congress passes a law banning the import of Russian uranium from 2028. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

The publication clarifies that Moscow has not yet made a final decision on this issue.

Earlier, Russia responded to the US plans to abandon Russian uranium. In particular, Igor Ananskikh, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Energy, questioned this possibility.

On December 12, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill banning the import of Russian low-enriched uranium. It was reported that American lawmakers decided to abandon purchases of this type of raw material until 2040. The necessary number of congressmen expressed their support for the initiative.
