OREANDA-NEWS Belarus is preparing to repel possible attacks from Ukraine and respond. This was stated by political scientist, director of the Center for the Study and Development of Continental Integration "Northern Eurasia" Alexey Dzermant, reports NSN.
"I think that [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Putin's statements are still being evaluated. Zelensky, how realistic they are, and the Belarusian side is preparing to repel possible attacks. But there will definitely be no emotional reaction, perhaps it is not even worth responding directly to these threats," he said.
According to the expert, Minsk needs to show by its actions that Kiev's threats will not lead to Belarus succumbing to pressure and blackmail. He noted that the Belarusian authorities would respond with all available means, and called for coordinating the work of the Russian and Belarusian air defenses.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Belarus can ensure its sovereignty and respond to potential military threats. He noted that Kiev's threats are aggressive and are interference in the internal affairs of another country.
