OREANDA-NEWS  Lorenzo Fiorillo, a top manager of the Italian oil and gas group Eni, expressed hope that in the future the company will be able to resume cooperation with Russia and buy Russian energy resources again.

Eni has been supplying Italy with oil and gas from Russia for decades. Before the European Union imposed anti-Russian sanctions, Moscow was the largest supplier of gas to the Italian market.

"We have lost a country where we could just go and buy energy resources - Russia. We can't do that right now... Will we be able to do business in the future? I hope so," Fiorillo said on Wednesday at a conference on the company's quarterly results.
