OREANDA-NEWS   Japan has declared a tsunami threat after a powerful earthquake in the Philippines. This was reported by the Japanese General Meteorological Administration.

According to experts, a tsunami up to a meter high could cover a vast area from the very south to Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo. In this regard, evacuation was announced for 181,000 people in Okinawa, Kochi, Ibaraki, Mie, Kagoshima, and Miyazaki prefectures. Everyone in the coastal area was urged to immediately take shelter in a safe place.

The earthquake in the Philippines became known last night. At least one building collapsed as a result of the disaster.
