OREANDA-NEWS Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"During the conversation, the crisis situation in the Middle East was discussed. At the same time, the ministers expressed extreme concern over Israel's military operation against Iran in violation of international law and the provisions of the UN Charter and called for an early de-escalation of tension in the region. In this context, the importance of turning the confrontation into a negotiation course was emphasized," the message posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

"The foreign ministers agreed to continue contacts, confirming the readiness of Moscow and Abu Dhabi to contribute to efforts to create conditions for progressive movement towards peace and security in the Middle East," Smolenskaya Square stressed.
