Lavrov spoke about the settlement of issues between Russia and Azerbaijan

OREANDA-NEWS Russia and Azerbaijan have settled all issues related to the crash of the AZAL Airline passenger plane, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"This year, thanks to the agreements reached at the highest level and the work of the governments, our ministries have settled all issues related to the consequences of the crash of the AZAL passenger plane on December 25, 2024," Lavrov said during talks with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
The Embraer-190 aircraft of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) company flying from Baku to Grozny crashed on December 25, 2024 near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan. According to the airline, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations, 29 people survived; according to the Russian Embassy, nine Russians were among them. According to the lists, there were 16 Russian citizens on board. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on July 19, 2025, that Baku insists on paying compensation to the families of those killed and injured in the plane crash. In addition, Aliev reported on the preparation of documents for filing a lawsuit in international courts against Russia.
